August 06 First week in AmericaThe space here is always quiet, so I can just write some words that few people will see it. That's cool. This is the second week I lived in America and I had been to lots of interesting places during last week, and I want to write them here so I can remember what I have done in America.
So , let's begin.
I went shopping for lots of times. The shopping mall in the fifth avenure is wonderful. I saw a three-floor tall shop just sell Levis's. The price is just the same in Shanghai. And I found a shop for selling NBA,NFL,MLB, and the Ice hockey league(I forgot its abbreviation) things. That's great.I also found a wonderful place for purchasing chothes of world-famous brand in a low price. That store called Ross. I brought two Levis's belts and a shirt totally about $30. That's really cheap. I have also went to the Disney's shop and brought two toys. There was just one thing was boring that almost all the toys and jeans were made in Asia countries.Such as China and Thailand and etc.
I went skating maybe in last wednesday. The skating center in San Francisco was really a cool place. I haven't been to the skating center in Shanghai (I mean ice skating) , maybe it is also cool. I found a old man who skated really good and he can turn round like an athelete, then I talked to him. He said he was a Chinaman but born in America and his parents came from Hongkang. He also have four graduate degree in Standford University and UC Berkeley. That was amazing. I tried to learn turn rounds but I failed.
Last Thursday or maybe Friday, I went to the Museum in Berkely and I saw lots of photos there which told me about AIDS in South Africa. That shocked me a lot. The people in some village all passed away because of AIDS. I had heard about that before in China and things also happened in mainland China. I thought it was a serious problem we should find the solutions of.
Last Saturday I went sightseeing in the downtown. I went to the Golden Gate Bridge, Goden Park, China town and ate some Chinese food. The wind here was cold so I havd to wear a coat to went out. The Golden Gate Bridge was a fascinating structure. And maybe the best color bridge in the world beacuse it was totally red. And finally I ate Chinese HUOGUO here and I was very happy. The restaurant was opend by a Hongkangness and it contained HUOGUO ,BBQ, and buffet together. And it was only $10 a person. That was really cheap, even cheaper than the restaurant in China. I ate
a lot.
One thing I was unconfortable was that I can't drink here, because I was under21. America law sometimes are foolish, beacuase over 16 can drive a car,but until 21 you can have a beer finally. I think let the teenage to drive is not safe, but America is a country live on wheel. If you haven't a driving licence here, it will be very inconvenient.
Yesterday I went to Stanford Universicy and Silicon Valley. Stanford University is different from University of California Berkeley. I thought Stanford looks more noble but UC Berkeley had more feeling of Campous. Both them are top universities in America. UC Berkeley is the best public university in U.S. and Stanford is one of the best private university in U.S. One of the most interesting thing is that they always debate about which university have the most Nobel Prize Winners. But I think Stanford is more successful in their business school because of Silicon Valley. HP and Google such as world famous companies are established by Stanford graduates. And I love the color of school uniform in Stanford becasue it is red.
This is the longest diary I have ever written in english, But not the longest article I have ever write. The longest article I had written in english maybe is the eassy of microeconomics.
The food here are always expensive, any restaurant near Songjiang University Town can change the prize of their food from RMB to $ to sell in Amercia. That's OK.
The dormitory I lived here is top dormitory here. The sevice here is just like a hotel with almost 3~4 star in China. I can play basketball, table tennis, ZHUOQIU and XBOX here. The food are always dilicious. My roomate is a German, he was studing a finance after-master degree in UC Berkeley. He was always busy and I seldom see him. The taiwaness here are all very interesting people. They can thinkout some interesting games always and do funny or odd expression together when taking a photo.
The subway driver are sometimes crazy. They will speed up if they like and then take a suddenly stop. I hate the subway here. The subway here called BART (Bar Area Rapid Transportation)
This week maybe I will remember the rold here and I will try to go sightseeing myself. And my teacher are all nice people.
Cheryl helps me to keep my cloth when I was buying new cloth, and Josh always ask me about everythings in China, he is really interested in China. The classmates are all nice persons too.Karola is a beautiful German girl with wonderful voice and Spanish ( Sorry guy,I forgot your name) sometimes chats with me about soccer games in Spanish League. Aureley is a swiss girl who always wear punk style cloth and she likes to smoke outside the classroom. Today she picked me outside to smoke a Marbollo, maybe I will smoke with her together someday, because I haven't tried the Marobollo with the green package. If the police see this, I don't know what will happen, maybe he punish me $200....(You konw I always look like a youger about 16-year-old)
I think I have written enough. And I will have a rest now. TrackbacksThe trackback URL for this entry is: http://xuke20062006.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!47ECED27BFFD0FC9!368.trak Weblogs that reference this entry
